Monterey: Sunshine, bubbles, and fishes.

Image
It has been so long since we have gone scuba diving, being pregnant kinda gets in the way of this activity, so we thought it was due time to get back in the water! Saturday D and I did a dawn call to go swimming with the fishies. We saw jelly fish, seals, and tons of animal life. On Sunday we all went down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! It has probably been 20 years since either D and I went so we thought it was due time. Added bonus, having a baby with you.

Labor Day Weekend

Image
We drove down to Avila Beach on the Central Coast for the weekend to 1) meet up with our good friends the Motts, 2) celebrate Lizard's 3rd birthday party, 3) celebrate the Mott's 4th wedding anniversary, and 4) enjoy the beach/good central coast weather. We rented a house right in town on the  so we didn't have to go anywhere all weekend. With its boutiques, surf shops, delicious dining, breathtaking beaches, adorable art vendors on the boardwalk, it's hard to not just soaking it all in, kick back and relax. Our deck was just what I wanted too, facing the ocean, great views, good wind and oozed relaxation, it screamed "come have your morning coffee or evening drink here"... so I did. Our view Friday night farmers market mmmmm Strawberries     Both the adults and Lizzy got presents Saturday we spent the perfect day on the beach Little kids birthday parties = chaos We even got a live performance, watch out Johnny Cash!

And we're off!.... Again. This weekend we drove down to the Central Coast for our good friends and D's college friend's joint 30th birthday party. We left the bay early, because Friday, and drove down to SLO to meet up with Jen, RJ, and the Motts for the Friday summer concert in Mission Plaza. Saturday was everything I imagined it to be. Woke up late, had some coffee on the porch, lazy breakfast, afternoon lounging at Avila beach, lots of laughing, and then a kick ass party with a bunch of our friends. Getting our puff paint art on because why wouldn't you have personalized beer koozies with your own hashtag? Some awesome dance moves were displayed We call this sweet move the "Danielle" - see t-shirt below for the original For the party, they had a crazy t-shirt contest, so naturally being the most amazing (horrible) friends, we found the worst/most embarrassing pictures of them and put them onto shirts. (Fact, a few pictures ...

Hearst Castle and the Central Coast

Some of our great friends (Meaghan and Nolan) moved down to Paso Robles earlier this year and we have made it a habit to visit them every few months. This weekend we decided to visit Hearst Castle. Hearst Castle is a National and California Historical Landmark mansion located on the Central Coast of California. It was designed by architect Julia Morgan between 1919 and 1947 for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. In 1957, the Hearst Corporation donated the property to the state of California and it has since been maintained as a state historic park where the estate.
