Eureka!

Image
This past weekend D and I drove up 101 to Eureka to visit my lovely Aunt Lynda. It had been a long overdue trip to come up and visit, and D had never been up there with me, so off we went. This isn't a drive for the faint hearted, while stunningly beautiful the more north you go through the redwoods and the Avenue of the Giants, 6 hours in the car is not easy. After the obligatory cup of morning coffee, we made our way to Arcata, a small town just north of Eureka, to go to the farmers market and main square.  A rare sunny warm day After we headed on down to Fortuna to get some lunch at Eel River Brewing. The over to Loleta to taste some fresh homemade cheese :) nom nom nom. Fun Fact: Eureka is the westernmost city of more than 25,000 residents in the 48 contiguous states.

Tahoe, A Family Affair

This weekend the Brunskill's and Howard's collided in Tahoe. D and I drove up to Tahoe Thursday night with the goal of working from the cabin on Friday. It's always nice to get a long weekend up there. Carrie, my mom and John trickled in throughout Friday afternoon followed by Kellie and Allan on Saturday. Sunday we all went out of the boat and enjoyed the sun and warm weather. Tubing! Our Vanna White Annnnd the pup pups

Annual River Debauchery Eleganza

When the husband is away, the wife goes out to play. :) For the past few years, my SF friends and I go up to Sacramento to do a float trip down the American River. We float in a giant raft flotilla with a floating amp for music named R2DJ. So we lash all the rafts together and float down the river for 4ish hours, chatting and drinking the weekend signature drink and general debauchery. R2DJ, our trusty music provider The impressive flotilla Beautiful day on the river
