Lindt & Sprüngli Chocolate Factory

I died and went to heaven. Yup, it's true. This blog is being written by yours truly via God's wireless internet connection. Ok, that's a lie, but I did feel like that today.

My day started out by renting a free city bike for the afternoon at Hauptbahnhof. I decided to take the scenic route to the factory, located in a small town on the lake just south of Zurich called Kilchberg, by riding along the lake. A rain/snow storm is headed to the region at the end of the week, so I want to take in as much of the outdoors as I can before I am forced indoors. You can already feel the cold front coming in, because boy was it chilly today! A high of 48*! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

A water park  I found at the lake! Complete with a slide, water slide,
diving board and fresh water swimming pool. I want to come back in the summertime.
Upon arrival in Kilchberg, I was greeted by the unmistakable aroma of chocolate. Heaven. If the factory wasn't on the lake, all I would have to do is follow my nose and it would be easy to find. I looked around the factory and saw all of the human, non-orange Oompa Loompas' making all of the yummy chocolate, but could not go inside. Bummer. I did find their factory store and went a little chocolate crazy!

Well hello again Zürich. Nice to see you old friend! Only for 2 weeks and this time, but we do have a toddler in tow! Oh how things have changed: Example #1. An 11 hour flight is no longer my time to catch up on movies that I haven't seen in the past year, it is now, do anything and everything possible to keep the child quiet, preferably sleeping, so there isn't a viral video of us on the internet. He did pretty good on the flight. The first 2-3 hours were a little rough as it was 3 hours past his bedtime, he had benadryl, he was confined to a very very small area, wasn't allowed to walk around, and so much was going on around him. The kid was WIRED, BUT once I got him to sleep, he slept for 6 hours across us and was pretty good when he woke up. My Second Homeland

Germany. Last summer, my cou sin Florian emailed me that he and his long time girlfriend, Martina, were engaged. So amazing! Another excuse to go to Europe! I love those. Through planning and limited by PTO, I decided we would rent a car and explore the Bavarian Alps South of Munich and make our way to the Black Forest for our first traditional German wedding. Yesterday, Mom, John, Duane and I la nded in the second best city in the world, Munich (Fact: San Francisco is number one). Hello old frie nd. It has been far too long. Struggling, but desperately trying to stay awake, we made our way to our respective hotels just in time for a much needed shower. To accomplish not passing out at 7pm and inevitably making my jet lag unbearable for the next 5 days, we met up with my good friend Fabian for dinner and drinks in the student neighborhood around the University. Last Day

After 32 days in Europe, it unfortunatly is time for me to head back home to reality, ie looking for a job and attemping to start my new life as an "adult". Im not going to lie, Im not looking forward to ditching this Peter Pan-esk life style. I dont think grown-up is a good look for me. Just saying. Last night there was a ridiculous thunderstorm. Right outside my window is a massive construction crane and at some points I thought the lightning was going to hit it. I got some amazing pictures though. After getting all of my things together eariler today, I headed off to the English Gardens with Fabian to relax, swim, and enjoy the Isar river. It was so nice just sitting in the shade, reading and being apart of the local city scene... its all so bitter sweet when I know Ill be cramped into a plane for about 16 hours tomorrow. So my friends\family, by this time tomorrow my feet will be firmly planted on USA soil and I will be back. I look forward to seeing\talking to you soon!!
